Hello, I’m Hassam, an engineer, researcher and doctoral candidate (Biomarkers of Personalized therapy for Multiple Sclerosis) in the Clinical Outcomes Research (CORe) Unit.

a little bit about me
Hassam Iqbal is seasoned electronics engineer with affiliations to prestigious professional organizations such as Engineers Australia and the Pakistan Engineering Council. Graduating with a B.Eng. degree in electronics engineering from Riphah International University, Islamabad, Pakistan, he has embarked on a journey of academic and professional excellence. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master’s by Research (MPhil) degree from Swinburne University of Technology, Hawthorn Melbourne, Australia, solidifying his expertise in the field.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Hassam is deeply involved in nurturing the next generation of engineers as an academic tutor at Swinburne University of Technology. Specializing in IoT programming, digital and data systems, he shares his wealth of knowledge with eager students.
Hassam’s research interests encompass a broad spectrum, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, assistive technology, bionics, signal processing, brain-computer interface, and Multiple Sclerosis. He is currently pursuing a doctoral program at the University of Melbourne, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. This opportunity has been made possible through the prestigious Melbourne Research Scholarship. His current groundbreaking research endeavours aim to identify biomarkers for personalized therapy in Multiple Sclerosis, showcasing his unwavering commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering innovation in the medical field.
